Reach for the sky is a film about a Manchester council housing estate dubbed the most deprived place in Britain-and at its heart a primary school that was threatened with closure.

It is also a film about how that little school discovered its own voice- a singing voice- that transformed not only the children but also the very community around it.

Save our school is a film about how a tiny country village school fought back against the threat by a remote municipal officialdom to shut it down-despite the fact that it was a shining and outstanding example of how children should be taught in this day and age.

Commissioned by a leading local businesswoman, this DVD became a critical weapon in the community’s successful campaign in preventing the closure of the school and the destruction of the very heart of the village.
Although Glare Media is aimed at the commercial video production market we are also pleased to help community groups make a difference through film. Shown here are clips from Reach for the Sky and Save Our School plus a profile of a ground breaking orginisation called Street College.
